Made from Lambrusco Viadanese grapes with the effervescence achieved using the Martinotti Method. The wine has a bright, intense and full red color which, when young, has distinct purple reflections. It is also a Lambrusco with an extraordinary capacity to age even if its exuberant youth entices you to drink it young. The effervescence is profuse, persistent and rich while the aroma is an explosion of fruit, Marasca and black cherry, and is decidedly grapey when young with a light spicy note. The mouthfeel is taut and sanguine with an extreme balance between the acidity and the vigorous tannins. The slightly rounded note gives it a universal drinkability without any need to tame the exuberance. Do not expect the wine to be the same from year to year because the producers adhere to an extreme philosophy of preserving the characteristics of the harvest… but at the same time each year their wine offers a pleasure difficult to match in its category.
