A very clear, transparent and almost cherry-red color for a classic, super-classic wine from this splendid producer. The aromas immediately throws you off guard because they seem the ones of Grenache from the southern Rhone Valley. However, this is just a sensorial ruse because the aromas soon wrap you with balsamic whiffs and unusually strong notes of strong spice, wild strawberry and black cherry. The mouthfeel is severe, austere and steadfast with thick tannins and a ferocious acidity. The tactical intensity is top-rate
