Bocca di Lupo 2003

The blend of this vintage and the age of the vines are the same as the 2001. However, this came from the difficult 2003 harvest which was torrid to say the least and did much damage throughout Italy. Nevertheless, as is always the case, good producers are skilled at dealing with adverse situations. This Bocca di Lupo is only slightly less expressive and varied than the previous. And while the edge may be a little more orange, it remains a very enjoyable wine and not at all overripe or ‘cooked’. The mouthfeel remains serious and austere, perfect for a mixed meat grill.
