Up until 2003 this wine was not 100% Aglianico but had a 7% addition of Cabernet. The vines were old and little by little they have been replaced. The wine has a very dark color with a slightly orange edge. The mouthfeel is solid, with polished tannins and a nice freshness and persistence. The aroma is austere, very clean, with spices and fruit at the right ripeness. The wise use of wood in no way harmed the wine. A truly lovely bottle that still has a long life ahead of it.
