Bausa 2010

Made from only Nero d’Avola grapes, this wine ages a year in barriques and six months in the bottle before heading to market. The aroma is captivating and sharp with a floral component of red rose that then evolves towards forest notes that range from wild strawberry to humus, mushrooms to roots. The mouthfeel is distinguished by the acidity and distinct tannins that lean on smoky and juicy notes and a discreet pungency. The finish is not very long but closes on a pleasant, spicy note of rhubarb.
