A surprising, expressive wine for such a hot year. The color is an intense garnet-red, an indication that it has the makings of a great wine, that triple-play of elegance, potency and drinkability. The nose is complex and well-expressed on almost plush, sinuous notes of underbrush and humus, enhanced with spicy nuances. The flavor is quite impressive for its austere composure, the clarity of its many facets and its distinct tannins. The length is very long, with a tar-like aftertaste. One of the best Nebbiolo wines of this vintage.
