A clear garnet color. The bouquet is slightly fleeting but after 45 years tit was to be expected. Stylistically, this is a far cry from Angelo Gaja's wines today. In other words, it reflects a much older wine-making style. The taste is decidedly good, an excellent grit, nice acidity, a subtle and elegant body, Veronelli would have said a ''solid backbone'', and a savory and pleasing finish.
