This vintage 1995 was a lovely surprise and showed how well this wine can age and how good it can be even when the weather has been hot. The color is a nice ruby with some garnet reflections. The aroma is intense and clean, dominated by slightly evolved scents typical of Sangiovese, like sweet tobacco and yellow peach, over a background that is a little more Cabernet-ish with blackberry and a bit of graphite. The taste is still very fresh with settled and elegant tannins, while the progression is vigorous and elegant at the same time. The aftertaste is excellent with eucalyptus and leather.
