Only 3,000 bottles of this Lazio pearl are made a year. This is a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Merlot (15%) with a bright ruby-red color and garnet reflections. The aroma has a distinct fruit component with crunchy prune and black cherry that then makes room for green pepper, licorice and in the end tobacco, leather and nutmeg. The real surprise comes with the mouthfeel which is full-bodied, intense and full-flavored. It is impetuous and insolent and at the same time gallant and bewitching. There is also a balsamic counterpoint to the elegant notes of red and black fruits. The softness and sweetness of the tannins are wonderfully integrated with a pleasing acidity that offers freshness despite the high alcoholic content, 14%. A wine with great structure and a finish that amazes with its length and intensity.
