Arsura Morellino di Scansano Docg 2010

Only 6,000 bottles of this 100% Sangiovese, aged 18 months in barriques, are made a year. The color is a bold ruby, typical of Sangiovese from Maremma, while the smoky aroma is reminiscent of barbecue charcoal (and a nice thick steak on the grill) before the arrival of fruity scents like cherry and mulberry and a floral contribution of violet. The taste is intense and rich, with a slight touch of caramel, while a nice acidity keeps the flavor lively.
