Annamaria Clementi Brut 2002

We included this in order to compare Italy's top bubbly with the best Champagnes, just to see what the effect will be. It is opulent already in its color, a bold, golden yellow. The bouquet is a little monotonous, ripe and slightly toasted fruit. The taste is also bold for its weight, taking into consideration that other vintages gave me the impression that it was a little fat, so perhaps this year has made it more balanced. The aftertaste is nice and lingering, altogether the sensation is of a structured bushiness. It lacks variety in its aroma and the necessary depth to be at these levels.
