The Sant’Andrea farm, the winery’s headquarters, is situated in Rosciolo, at 270m above sea level. The vineyards that produce the Trebbiano grapes for this wine have a southwest exposure and a moderate yield per plant. This Anima 2006 has a golden-yellow color that is still bright and luminous, while the bouquet is intense and persistent, smoky and buttery, with a hint of honey and just remnants of yellow peach and hazelnut. The mouthfeel is balanced and piquant, with a consistent return of flint. While not outstanding, this wine has great harmony and is surprising for how it has aged so well, considering that this was the estate’s ‘stock’ Trebbiano that is generally drunk young, or as the American would say it is a drink now wine.
Price: 9 euros (for a 2012 the latest year on the market)
