This is an absolute star, as you can see even from its colour, a bright mahogany, almost like an antique drape. The nose is superbly complex, with hints of candied fruits, dates, apricots and sultanas. The progression in the glass is impressive and one has the impression that this wine will never rest on its hard-won laurels. The mouth-feel is exciting: a cross between aristocratic velvet and languid caresses on the palate. Sensual like a bayadère, seductive like a geisha…your taste buds thank you for it. Every sip is a joy, every nuance an organoleptic revelation. Is this Italy’s best sweet wine? Perhaps… it’s undoubtedly up there at the top of the tree.
