Rotari is part of the Gruppo Mezzacorona. It is a huge estate, a citadel of winemaking in the Piana Rotaliana that lies between Mezzocorona and Mezzolombardo. The wine is a modern traditional method, one for more experienced tongues, an extra brut that reflects the territory. This Trentodoc in 100% Chardonnay and the grapes are hand-picked to then ferment in small part in barriques. It sits more than 48 months on the lees.
The color is a bright and distinct straw-yellow with a fine bead. The aroma is clean and fragrant with notes of plum and freshly cut ripe peach, citron and gooseberry accompanied by a light vegetal scent and toasted almond. The attack is clean, linear, precise and full of class. The mouthfeel is dominated by the acidity-mineral component, a trait of the territory, while the effervescence is wrapping and quite strong. It closes on a note of candied lemon. An excellent drop.
