Made from only Aglianico grapes that were picked by hand between the end of October and the beginning of November. The wine is produced using large barrels and barriques where it ages for at least 24 months. It has an incredibly lucent, garnet-red color and its bouquet opens with scents of black tea, dark spices and violet petals. With breathing the aroma opens even further and becomes broad and taut, enriched with deep notes of resin, clove, very dark-roasted coffee and a host of intense and persistent dried herbs. The mouthfeel is epitomizes balanced austerity and full flavor. While seemingly warm, the alcohol is wonderfully integrated and overall the wine is full yet very sharp. More than a finish the aftertasteis is an incredibly long extension full of balsamic, floral and spicy flavors.
