Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese 1976

Tasting an old Riesling is truly a unique experience for it leaves behind it an almost infinite wake of extraordinary sensations. This has a pale, golden color without any amber reflections, while the aroma decidedly leans towards sweet spice, nutmeg and cinnamon. There is also a bold sensation of fine hydrocarbons and a jam of overripe fruit.  The mouthfeel is still rounded and soft, in perfect balance with the apparent secret to the wine’s seemingly eternal life: a lively, pulsating and almost citric acidity. Superb.
