    A cool but regular growing season with little rain, similar to 1995. Here the color is an intense and bright garnet and the aromas are complex, very Burgundy-esque, defined, with notes of wild strawberry, currant, cassis and spice with some boisé hints in the background. The flavor is delicious with fine, relaxed tannins and an excellent acidity upholding a body that is not enormous but extremely elegant and in no way invasive. The finish is subtle but has an excellent persistence.
