The alcoholic content of this wine is astonishing. I mention this because drinking it you wouldn't notice. We are in the neighborhood of 17% but all the wine's components come together for an amazing drinkability. Compared to its brother '16', the taste plays more on the variety of wild berries, cherry and notes of ripe plumbs. The bouquet is of graphite, mushroom and cinnamon. It could be said that while Gioia del Colle '16' is deeper, more vertical, the '17' is broader.
