The Essential Guide to Italian Wines 2020 presented in London
On February 3rd, three days after Brexit, the sixth edition of DoctorWine's The Essential Guide to Italian Wines was presented in London.
The occasion was held in the halls of Brown's Hotel in Mayfair, a tasting of Italian wines produced by 26 companies selected by the DoctorWine team and present in the guide. In addition, there were two seminars, led by Daniele Cernilli, director of the Guide, one of which together with Riccardo Cotarella, president of Assoenologi and the International Association of Oenologists, which had as their object the tasting and commentary of seven wines chosen among the most representative among those who make use of his advice.
It was a significant success. The participation of an audience of wine professionals, sommeliers, buyers, importers, journalists, was wide and representative. In the end we counted almost 300 wine professionals who alternated throughout the afternoon at the tasting stalls, and the seminars, which could only accommodate 40 people each, were literally taken by storm.
The interest in the best Italian wines does not seem to have been affected by Brexit at all, and this is good news for now. The guide was greeted with interest, and the copies available during the event were sold out.
