Docu-series on the 10 years of Nascetta

On the occasion of the Doc's tenth anniversary, the Indigenous Langa Association presents an episodic documentary that recounts the present of the grape variety nascetta through its producers and that, with the contribution of some experts, offers an in-depth examination of the characteristics, history and background of the authentic native Langa white wine. 

 

The documentary consists of 12 episodes dedicated to the testimonies of Nascetta producers who tell their direct experiences with the grape variety, once forgotten, which today, while remaining a niche production, continues to grow in terms of hectares planted with vines and companies that approach it. They tell the reasons for their choices, the satisfaction they obtain and the hopes they place in it.

 

Other episodes are instead dedicated to more institutional topics, with a historical, agronomic, geological, organoleptic, culinary cut: they have the voice and the face of some experts, friends of Nascetta, who participated in the path of discovery with a popular cut. Professor Anna Schneider of the National Research Council, Professor Vincenzo Gerbi of the University of Turin, Edmondo Bonelli for the geological part, Mauro Carosso of Ais Piemonte, are some of the experts who have contributed.

 

Every week an episode will be published on the social networks managed by the Association (IG @langhenascetta and the FB Indigenous Langa page), until September, when a full version of the video project will be published, ending with an event dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Doc. The project is co-funded by the Association and the individual companies involved and has been realized by Langhe.Tv (RodMax JMarketing).

 

The Association brings together the producers of Nascetta who share the common objective of protecting and enhancing the grape variety and the wines produced from the Nascetta grape. "The wines produced from the Nascetta vine - the Statute states - represent an economic, tourist and cultural resource and for their unique characteristics also a defence of traditions and the local environment".  Guided by this imperative Indigenous Langa aims to protect and promote in a unique way, in its first phase of life, the rediscovered Nascetta vine and its denominations in order to develop its production, protection, research, dissemination and image at regional, national and international level. In the near future the Association will be extended to other autochthonous vines of the Langa precisely in order to preserve and promote what the territory offers the most authentic.
