Pact between the Women of Wine of the World

From Australia to Argentina, New Zealand to Peru, 11 women's wine associations sign a Partnership Agreement to grow common projects and individual professionalism.
It is a five-point covenant of alliance that commits 11 women's wine associations around the world to encourage travel and educational experiences of the others, transforms the Italian Women of Wine festival into a world event, and organizes exchangeable tastings and information transfer in order to increase relationships among members in different countries and market knowledge.
It was signed today during the 2nd World Convention of Women of Wine hosted at Simei Milan, the oenological machinery exhibition. The Italian Donne del Vino, led by President Donatella Cinelli Colombini, as leader: "The Donne del Vino with 1020 members are the largest and most active association of female oenologists internationally," commented the president. "In an increasingly divided world, women show how it is possible to collaborate by leveraging what unites: the desire to improve themselves professionally, defeat gender inequality and promote the culture of wine.
The other participants were Amuva- Argentina, The Fabulous Ladies' Wine Society-Australia, 11 Frauen und ihre Weine-Austria, Chile, Wow- Croatia, Femmes de Vin-France, Baia's Wine-Georgia, Vinissima-Germany, Women in Wine-New Zealand, Las Damas del Pisco-Peru.
The first outcome came spontaneously: Corrina Wright awarded with the title Winemaker of the Year 2022 by the Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology ASVO visited the wineries of the Women of Wine of Campania bringing pure Fiano and Falanghina metodo classico produced in Australia to compare them with the native ones in a tasting organized by Valentina Carputo. The Peruvians after Simei will visit the wineries of the Piedmont Women of Wine while the Chileans are preparing a winery tour between Veneto and Lazio.
For all the foreign delegates participating in the Forum, a wonderful trip to the provinces of Brescia and Verona has been organized to deepen their knowledge of the Lugana appellation and the Turbiana grape variety through tastings and guided tours of Ambra Tiraboschi's Ca Lojera, Giovanna Prandini's Perla del Garda, and Giordana Olivini's Olivini wineries.
The 2nd Forum of the Women in Wine Worldwide had its highlight with the conference "The wine scenario: evolutions and perspectives." The papers were moderated by Alessandra Fedi, wine educator. Interesting contributions were made by Carlos Santos Ceo Amorim Cork Italia, Eugenio Pomarici Ordinary Professor at the University of Padua, Giuseppe Festa, of the University of Salerno. Roberta Garibaldi, Ad of Enit, sent her video contribution with a greeting and a consideration on the state of health of wine tourism.
In the afternoon, the forum entitled "Women, Wine, Future," the Italian Association's theme of the year, and led by Suzanne Branciforte, wine consultant. President Cinelli Colombini presented the projects carried out by the National Association Le Donne del VIno and the Partnership agreement that will bind the 11 female wine associations of the world in the future. Then Antonietta Mazzeo, Roberta Urso and Roberta Lanero presented the D-Vino Project on teaching wine in Hotel and Tourism Institutes.
It was the turn of the foreign delegations who illustrated their activities, explained the post-Covid situation in their country with specific reference to the wine sector.
At the end, the signing of the Partnership Agreement and the group photo sealed an important moment in the history of wine. Almost a milestone on a road to gender equality that uses sharing to enhance women's skills and opportunities.
