50 Top Pizza, the first and most important online guide in the sector, is now in its fourth edition. Three great rankings: Italy, Europe and USA. New of the year the award for the best 10 Italian pizzeria chains.
After the ex-aequo triumph, in 2019, of the insignia I Masanielli by Francesco Martucci (Caserta) and Pepe in Grani by Franco Pepe (Caiazzo, CE), insiders and readers are preparing to experience another long and exciting ride to discover the best pizzerias in Italy and the rest of the world.
An editorial project with global success that, also for 2020, confirms the structure of the world guide with three major rankings: Italy, Europe and the USA. Lists that will be flanked, as usual, by the various international awards dedicated to restaurants in the rest of the world: Asia, Africa, South America, Canada, Oceania, Brazil and Japan. Without forgetting the award for the Best Neapolitan Pizzeria outside Italy.
"Obviously ours - explain the three curators of 50 Top Pizza, Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro and Albert Sapere - remains a free editorial project. We think that this is one of the secrets of its affirmation among enthusiasts and insiders. Its reliability is also demonstrated by the enormous media resonance it has had in recent years. The first annual appointment is scheduled in April, inside the San Babila Theatre in Milan. Here will be unveiled the signs present in 50 Top Europe, the most valid in the Old Continent outside the Italian borders. Ranking that in 2019 saw on the top step of the podium 50 Kalò by Ciro Salvo Pizzeria London (London, England). At the same time the best 10 Italian pizzeria chains will be announced, an interesting novelty in 2020. "Bringing on the stages of some of the most important Italian theatres the creators of this sort of Renaissance pizza that we are living - Guerra, Pignataro and Sapere emphasize - is a deliberate choice, almost in antithesis to the somewhat naive vision that we had, until a few years ago, with regard to the profession of pizza chef. In the following months it will be the turn of 50 Top USA, to find out if Razza Pizza Artigianale (Jersey City, USA), crowned in 2019, will still be the best pizzeria in the United States.
To finish the most awaited moment, that of the usual and exciting grand finale at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples, scheduled for July, when the curtain will be raised on the best pizzerias in the Bel Paese, 50 of the 500 reviewed by the inspectors and judged for the quality of the proposal and all the services offered to the customer, following a visit in anonymity. During the same evening, the various and coveted special prizes will also be awarded, as well as recognitions to restaurants in the rest of the world.
