Vintage tastings (9): the 1960s
These wines are 50 years old, more or less, and are expressions of a supranational winemaking skill that allowed great Italian wines to be nearly on par with those in France and Spain: Frescobaldi, Ruffino, Gaja, Mastroberardino and Giacomo Conterno.
The fantastic 1960s produced enduring and epic wines that have stood up for decades. Those lucky to try them today will be surprised and satisfaction is guaranteed.
