The very pale color with distinct orange nuances could give the impression that this wine may have already passed its peak but the truth is it has completed a transformation from what it was when young. While only slight, the violet and balsamic notes are amazing and those of chanterelle mushrooms will enthrall you as will those of moss. With age the bouquet has shifted towards licorice sticks and dried flowers. The mouthfeel is very fine and silky and the acidity is still lively. This seems like a textbook guide on how a great Pinot Noir should age in the bottle.
