San Giovenale Habemus verticale

The first wine conceived by Emanuele Pangrazi at San Giovenale, clearly Rhodesian in style, shows in the first vertical ever made a truly remarkable consistency and integrity.

San Giovenale, the winery owned by Emanuele Pangrazi set in the territory of the municipality of Blera in the Viterbese region of Italy, despite its young age (it was founded in 2006), has carved out an important space in the regional and national wine scene. This small miracle is the result of several elements: the passion bordering on obsession of Emanuele, who as a wine neophyte has
thrown his heart over the hurdle; a wild, unspoiled territory with in the background the Tyrrhenian Sea from which comes a constant breeze; a viticulture very accurate in conception and conduction with very dense plantings (13-15 thousand vines per hectare in bush form with yields that do not reach 100 grams per plant) conducted in certified organic and using plant material from one of the most famous French nurserymen, Mercier; an essential work in the cellar (spontaneous fermentations, no filtration, etc. ) but using materials, from steel tanks to barrels, of extreme quality.

There are 15 hectares planted with vines for a production that comes to about 10 thousand bottles divided, for now, into two labels the Habemus, with a clear Rhône influence, and the Habemus Etichetta Rossa, a Cabernet Franc made in a few hundred bottles.

The vertical, for the first time made, refers to the eleven vintages so far released of the first wine, from 2010 to 2020. Habemus is composed of 40 percent Grenache, 40 percent Syrah and in 20 percent Carignan; from the 2015 vintage 40 percent Granache, 25 percent Syrah, 12 percent Carignan and 12 percent Malvasia Nera. The wine ferments in steel for about 10 days and ages in new barrels for 20 months.
