Ca' d'Gal Moscato d'Asti Vite Vecchia 2016 con calice

We are used to thinking that Moscato d'Asti is a wine incapable of achieving great complexity, in short, a wine that finds its raison d'être in simplicity and immediacy. Nothing could be more wrong, just uncork the Vite Vecchia of Ca' d'Gal to change your mind.

If you feel like tasting the greatest Moscato d'Asti of all time and you also feel like spending quite a few euros, almost 50 for the record, try this wine. It is produced by a legendary winery in Santo Stefano Belbo, which together with Canelli is the capital of Moscato d'Asti.

The owner's name is Alessandro Boido, and he is definitely a visionary, because he thought of producing an extraordinary wine from a variety that for years people used to make wine out of to win at amusement park shooting galleries. I am reminded of Bela Bartok and George Gershwin, who made masterpieces from folk songs and music.

Here the thing is similar, although instead of a piece of music there is a bottle of wine. Unforgettable moreover. Click on the name if you want to read my impressions.
