For 30 years of Cagiòlo, Cantina Tollo launches Special Edition

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva Cagiòlo, the flagship wine of the Teatino group, gets a new packaging that tells of the beauty and magic of Abruzzo.

Cantina Tollo celebrates 30 years of Cagiòlo - first vintage 1992 - with a special limited-edition package: the exclusive box recounts the place where Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva was born while the box follows the lines of the Abruzzo region where the wine originates, evoking its magic.

"This Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva encapsulates the spirit of Cantina Tollo and the territory of which we are ambassadors," explains President Luciano Gagliardi, "For 30 years, it has been telling the world about this extraordinary place, where the sea meets the mountains and where Montepulciano grapes give life to a wine that, throughout its history, has stood the test of time, giving us unique emotions.

Cagiòlo takes its name from casciòle, a term in Abruzzo dialect for the limestone soil of the hills where this wine is born. Longer-lived vineyards with deep roots, therefore more stable and balanced, and the soil on which they stand ensure that ripening occurs harmoniously and that the tannins are more balanced and elegant. 

After the grapes are harvested in the second half of October, fermentation with long maceration of the skins at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation in tanks and aging in wood follow.

The special edition celebrating the anniversary will be on sale for 28 euros in the online shop of Cantina Tollo.

100% Montepulciano. Matures 24 months in tonneaux. Ruby red color. Intense aromas of canned black cherries, plum jam and ripe wild berries. Spices, cocoa and humus complete the bouquet. Soft in the mouth, pleasant, good volume and fruity finish.
