A blend of 55% Corvina, 25% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella and 5% Croatina.  This Rispasso macerates on the skins of grapes used for Amarone before maturing for 15 months in barrels of different sizes. The wine has a dark, ruby-garnet color that is not opaque but shiny and the aroma has typical notes of jam (black cherry and blackberry) along with those of pipe tobacco and a hit of mint. The mouthfeel is textbook with a rounded attack, soft tannins and a finish that pares down (as a good Ripasso should) to become flavorful and again fruity with a nice persistence.
