A damp and cool year, although the grapes achieved full maturity and were healthy, although somewhat lacking in sugar. The harvest ran from 4-23 October.
50% Cabernet Franc, 33% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Matured for over a year in barriques, some new. A standard, dark ruby-red. The aroma differs with its floral, potpourri scents and those of dried porcini mushrooms followed by precise notes of red fruit, blackcurrant, citron and pine resin. The fresh mouthfeel has a medium body, is less intense and tannins that are not totally dominated and with less sweetness from the fruit. The finish is flavorful and very persistent.
