A regular season with a summer with above-average rain and below normal temperatures. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenère, 10% Merlot. Matured in French oak barriques that are both new and used two and three times. An intense and bright garnet. Nice, broad aromas with vegetal notes and classic ones of blueberry. Similar to 1995 but less complex. The mouthfeel is full, fresh and agile with tannins that are just noticeable. Overall, slightly rustic.
Bottles produced: 51,200; 7,050 half-bottles; 3,000 magnums; and 200 double magnums.
