Rubesco Vigna Monticchio Riserva 1997

A blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Canaiolo with an intense, ruby-garnet color. The bouquet is elegant, pleasing, rich, complex, fruity and spicy with notes of black cherry, tobacco, damp earth, prune jam, wilted violets, cardamom and black pepper. The full and voluminous mouthfeel has compact yet elegant and tight tannins and is saline with great acidic tension. The finish is warm, persistent and overall very consistent with the flavor.
