A blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Canaiolo that has a bright, intense garnet color with ruby reflections. The aroma is exceptionally intact, assorted and complex and even youthful with its notes of wild berries, spice, rose, hint of licorice, mint and cacao along with sensations of underbrush. The surprising mouthfeel has tannins that are still “fidgety”, thick and widespread with a bold structure and excellent body that is warm, complex and saline indicating it will age long. The finish is warm and very persistent. An excellent vintage.
