A wine made from Barbera grapes that matures in barriques for 18 months. The questionable 2014 harvest did nevertheless produce some fine results and this Barbera is impressive. The color is an intact and intense ruby while the aroma has complex and clean notes with a fruity vein of white cherry and currant together with a whiff of menthol and a pleasing floral sensation all topped off by a smoky hint and one of eucalyptus. The mouthfeel is not muscular but extremely elegant and refined with an excellent and integrated acidity. The texture is medium but the progression is truly unexpected and impressive as is the decidedly persistent finish.
