This vintages was over-rated by foreign critics and the wines from the hotter areas had limited aromas that centered on notes of dried herbs, tobacco, leather and summer underbrush. The mouthfeel is dense and progressive with a thick texture and tannins that tend to be a bit nervous being as rough as they are. The aftertaste is flavorful with warm, jammy notes.
