A blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Malvasia Nera that matures for around 18 months in barriques, 50% new. Let there be no mistake, this is a really good wine. And this is evident as soon as it is in your glass and you can smell its undeniable Tuscan essence, distinctly Chianti-esque, beauty and finesse with the masterful use of wood making it a compulsive drop. The small amount of Malvasia combined with the Sangiovese defines this wine beginning with its intense red color with bright reflections and aroma of flowers and wild berries. The mouthfeel is splendid with its perfect mix of body, tannins and freshness.

I drank this eating, among other things, fried anchovies and battered and fried cod and its versatility made it seem like a marriage of love.
