November 8th: Wine in Moderation Day

The Unione Italiana Vini supports the first International Wine in Moderation Day scheduled for tomorrow, Nov. 8. Lamberto Frescobaldi, UIV president: "Wine is already a testimonial of moderation. We need to enhance the indispensable cultural added value."

Unione italiana vini, founding member of Wine in Moderation, joins and supports the first international day dedicated to moderate and responsible wine consumption. Scheduled for tomorrow, November 8, Wine in Moderation Day aims to raise awareness and involve consumers themselves in promoting a culture of "drinking in moderation," through the dissemination of the claim "The greatest wine? The one that you will remember."

"It is good to remember how wine in Italy is already synonymous with moderation," said the president of Unione italiana vini, Lamberto Frescobaldi. "As the Uiv Observatory pointed out last June, in our country in the last 15 years there has been a 22% decrease in daily consumption: a change in consumption habits that, in the face of a 35% increase in the number of occasional wine consumers, testifies to an increasingly cultural approach to the product. We therefore wholeheartedly support Wine in Moderation and its president, Sandro Sartor (vice-president of UIV) in promoting this opportunity not only for promotion, but also for reflection, awareness and consumer involvement in defending the indispensable cultural added value of the wine experience."
