Just outside Rome, a stone's throw from the sea and the port of Fiumicino, the restaurant of chef Gianfranco Pascucci and his wife Vanessa Melis has found its perfect home: Pascucci al porticciolo.

We are certainly not the first to discover it (it has 1 Michelin Star) but it is worth remembering: here you eat and drink very very well. An all-fish cuisine, creative, tasty, beautiful also to see, made of high quality raw materials, elaborated by the Chef with more or less desire to amaze. That is, he alternates dishes of great creativity with others that are more traditional, in a right mix that shuffles the cards a bit, without frazzling you.

The figure that most amazed us is the one concerning beauty. Beauty of the room, of the wine list, of the service. But the visual beauty that the dishes that gradually arrive send back is even fascinating. A cuisine that is also of strength, of taste, of flavor, without neglecting, in some preparations, the need to pay attention to the barely whispered detail, to fully grasp the essence of the catch used.

You can therefore choose from a number of tasting menus, or, as we did, choose a la carte dishes.

Speaking of the wine list, we feel obliged to mention the wine list. Wide, varied, multi-regional and international, with a great attention to the wines of the sea, obtained from grapes grown on islands or on sandy soils (and in any case close to the sea). A focus that is not only embodied in a "list" in the menu, but has at its base a selection process undertaken several years ago, with wines that surprise for their evolution. Not to mention the wide selection of champagnes, which rightly enjoy great attention here. And, if you are a couple and feel like enjoying dinner somewhat isolated and surrounded by bottles, you can try asking if a table in the Cellar is available!

In each case, all tables are finely set, well spaced, with all the elements of décor that contribute to your sensory well-being. With kind, thoughtful, attentive and friendly service, coordinated by Vanessa, the Chef's wife, a professional of long experience and refined savoir faire.
