Scontro tra titani

Among the world’s best wines, Italy can boast an impressive number thanks to their history, terroir and the ability of inspired winemakers to interpret their land. An almost unique combination of all these factors can be found in the Langhe.
We have decided to pit against each other three absolute giants the whole world envies Italy for, wines that may be produced in limited quantities but have risen to the pantheon of great wines thanks to their epic and unrepeatable characteristics. Wines that make Italy proud at every international event they take part in. These wines, made from Nebbiolo grapes, are the archetypes and leaders of an entire movement, moving wines that touch the hearts of all those who adore the best.
These wineries have a long history and traditions rooted in the environment as well as extraordinary winemaking skills. In a blind tasting, it is amazing to listen to the impressions these wines make and how they incite discussions on their particular characteristics focusing on the terroir, the grape and the interpretation of the winemaker.
The wineries are those of Mascarello e Figlio in Monchiero, Roagna in Barbaresco and Giacomo Conterno in Monforte with their respective and unmatchable wines Cà d’Morissio, Crichet Pajé and Monfortino. The vintage chosen is one of the greatest in recent memory, 2006. Rarely have we been so lucky to taste such incredible wines together.
