Podernovo of Castello delle Regine

Four elegantly furnished farmhouses welcome guests to Umbria, just over an hour from Rome. An excellent restaurant is also available.

It all began with the purchase of a property around Castelluccio Amerino overlooking the Valle delle Regine. Other lands were added to those, up to the current extension of 400 hectares, of which 200 are woodland, 75 are vineyards and 20 are planted with olive trees. Within the Castello delle Regine estate is Podernovo, an elegant House & Country Residence with 18 apartments, 3 swimming pools and an excellent restaurant.

At Podernovo, the charm of the hilly landscape enchants the eye. The estate stretches among olive groves and vineyards and woods, and the vacation homes are located in the quiet of a park that unfolds among hills, meadows, trees and paths lined with ornamental plants.

The four cottages Ulivo, Cipresso, Quercia and Patassa, wisely restored following the "Umbrian" style, offer houses with an ancient flavor, renovated respecting the environment of the traditions of the area. Each house has its own pool, exclusively dedicated to guests. The houses, with typical wooden ceiling beams, spacious and finely furnished, are all served by independent heating, air conditioning, living room with fireplace, private garden or panoramic terrace, fully equipped kitchen. But also WiFi, satellite television and Sky TV to stay connected to the world, if desired.

Guests have access to a tennis court, mountain bikes, walks through the woods and vineyards of the estate, with about 40 km of white road within the property.

At Podernovo Restaurant you can enjoy Umbrian specialties distinguished by unique ingredients such as, the authenticity of local meats, the fragrance of olive oil and the heady scent of wine. Everything the farm produces is offered here: the wine, meats, oils, and vegetables. Pastas and breads are homemade. The guidelines are freshness and quality of raw materials, and the cuisine is in the groove of tradition with some careful innovation. You can also taste and buy the wines, grappas and extra virgin olive oil produced by the Castello delle Regine estate. 

The Houses & Country is easily reached by car in less than an hour from Rome. It is 5 km from the freeway exit of Orte.
