Tenuta di Artimino - Toscana

A stay that takes you back in time, with the charm of history and all the modern conveniences.

History, culture, art, and nature make the Tenuta di Artimino a special place, nestled among the rolling Tuscan hills embroidered with olive trees and vineyards, just 20 km from Florence. Ancient Etruscan settlement, then a medieval village and later home to the Medici family, still dominating the 700 hectares of the estate is its Medicean Villa La Ferdinanda, built in 1596 and Unesco heritage.

Since 1989 the estate is owned by the Olmo family: it was Giuseppe Olmo, a well-known cyclist of the 1930s, Olympic gold medalist and record holder of the hour, who wanted it to be restored to transform it into a resort that offers a very warm hospitality, with restaurant, spa, and visit to vineyards and cellar. Not one but a thousand experiences available. You can choose to stay overnight in the rooms of the Paggeria Medicea hotel, in the apartments of the village or in the farmhouses. Each activity allows you to discover the area and its excellences: wine tastings, bike tours in the vineyards, jeep safaris, picnics at sunset, cooking classes.

The Paggeria Medicea, a 17th century building of the Medici family, has terracotta floors, wooden beams, serena stone elements, windows overlooking the countryside. Each room is characterized in its elegant nuances with the colors of the wines of the estate. The 59 apartments located in the ancient village of Artimino, surrounded by medieval walls, have all been obtained in the historic rooms of the old farm and in the manor houses, keeping intact the charm of history. Each apartment has an independent entrance.

A private area with a breathtaking view on the valley and vineyards: from here, dominate the landscape the Fagianaie, two farmhouses from which have been obtained six prestigious apartments. The rooms are spacious and finely restored, the furniture is refined and the interiors smell of countryside and Tuscany.

The Biagio Pignatta cuisine and wine restaurant (named after the first butler of Ferdinand I) offers local cuisine revisited with flair, with local products and produce from the estate's vegetable garden. The restaurant, a short distance from the Villa and close to the hotel, offers classy hospitality in the name of Tuscan tradition. Tradition goes hand in hand with the quality of raw materials, with the choice of local suppliers and with the enhancement of local products and recipes of Tuscan culinary history.

The estate also offers two swimming pools and a spa with wine therapy along the ancient walls; Ferdinando I de ‘Medici was fascinated by the Villa, with its magnificent “One Hundred Chimneys” and a unique and uncontaminated panorama.
