Tufo del Gruccione, a Chianti to buy

The Chianti Colline Senesi Tufo del Gruccione 2016 by Colline del Chianti winery is an example of how the wines produced by cooperative wineries are the ones to look at for every day wines.
A wine cooperative set up in 1974 by small winegrowers in the towns of Colle Val d’Elsa and Poggibonsi. In 2009, it merged with another cooperative in Geggiano in the municipality of Pontignano Castelnuovo Berardenga. Today the cooperative has 250 members who supply a total of 3.8 million kg of grapes that produce bottles of top wines as well as high-quality bulk wine with an extraordinary quality/price ratio.
The name of their standard-bearer wine, RBB1961, refers to the Siena nobleman Ranuccio Bianchi Bandinelli, an art historian, archeologist and politician who in 1961 helped local sharecroppers create the first version of the cooperative to enhance the value of the work they did in the fields.
We present today the Chianti Colline Senesi Tufo del Gruccione, a very pleasant wine at an incredible price.
