The electrician who loved wine
Gianluca Piernera could be considered a winemaker ‘by chance’ given that he is by trade an electrician. He built his family home on land that included an old vineyard and after meeting Marco Casolanetti he was bitten by the winemaking bug and his passion for it became insatiable. Since 2012 he has been bottling his first wines.
His vineyard’s yield is very low and he uses no chemical treatments in it, while in the winery he uses only indigenous natural yeasts. One of his vineyard’s strongpoints is its Trebbiano Spoletino, a white wine grape that is now having the success it deserves.
