Girofle, the king of Rosexpo
Rosexpo was an excellent opportunity to sample rosé wines from around the world. We were particularly impressed by a Salento rosé, Girofle 2016 from Severino Garofano.
The occasion was in the white and hot city of Lecce which for the occasion became pink for Rosexpo. There were many rosé wines to sample from Puglia and the rest of the world including Spain and Provence as well as the rest of Italy.
So as not to wander too far, here is a rosé from the province of Lecce, Girofle from Severino Garofano, an enologist who in the past decades has created the greatest Puglia wines and who a few years ago set up his own estate in Salento, in Copertino, where he works alongside his children Stefano and Renata.
