Daniele Cernilli e Stefania Vinciguerra Ciliegiolo Cantine Lunae

Dedicated to those who turn up their noses when you say that even in the summer heat it is possible to drink red wines.

Temperatures are rising tremendously all over Italy, and those who want to drink red wines are very tempted to give up. I understand that this is not the main problem in the world, of course, but we are talking about wine here, and the issues in the end are what they are.

All this to introduce you to a red wine, delicious, to drink fresh from the cellar or even to refrigerate for half an hour before serving. It is Cantina Lunae's Ciliegiolo 2022, which I personally find irresistible. It comes from Vigna Luna, which is three kilometers from the sea between Luni and the Apuan Alps.

It is exactly what I like to drink in this time of unbearable heat. Fresh, perhaps with some heretical pairings, with the late cherries of Trentino, for example, which in their aromas are unquestionably reminiscent of it. But also with the ever-present prosciutto and melon, another "must" of summer.
