For many, Soave is the Veneto white wine par excellence, which after ups and downs due to its excessive popularity, has made a comeback thanks also to the careful study, research and repositioning activities carried out by the Consorzio di Tutela. Here, however, we do not want to talk about the Additional Geographical Unions - Uga (the sub-areas, to be clear) but simply to point out two very pleasant and well-made Soave wines, which have a retail price of 9 euros. They are wines produced by two companies that have been active in the Verona area since the 19th century: Bolla and Bertani, so they know very well what we are talking about.
Since the late nineteenth century, the Bolla winery has had close relationships with more than a hundred families of winegrowers who for generations have been conferring grapes, cared for with the help of the company's agronomic team. After great splendor until the 1970s-80s and a period of tarnishing, Bolla was relaunched by Gruppo Italiano Vini, which finalized the purchase of the winery between 2006 and 2009, and today presents a range of reliable and affordable wines.
The Bertani brothers' adventure in the world of wine began even earlier, in 1857, and more than a century and a half later the company has consolidated and expanded its boundaries, taking wines to the world according to that entrepreneurial nature that has distinguished it from its beginnings. Today it can count on vineyards in the Valpantena, Valpolicella, Soave and Lake Garda areas.
