Vigneto Fogliano 2015 Bisci, a Verdicchio to remember
Bisci is an estate with splendid vineyards and its Verdicchio di Matelica above all offers finesse, as demonstrated by this Vigneto Fogliano 2015.
Mauro Bisci’s estate is situated in the northernmost part of Valle Camertina, a stone’s throw from Cerreto d’Esi, and aside from being very lovely, it also has some of the best vineyards in the whole appellation. Here the vines seem to “cling” to Mt San Vicino, which is responsible for the fresh-temperate climate in the area and the sharp temperature variations between day and night.
The estate benefits from the consultancy of enologist Aroldo Bellelli, who many wine lovers may not know but who has been working throughout the region for many years demonstrating a refined skill in producing whites.
After a period of consistent ups and downs, Bisci has in recent years been producing top Verdicchio wines on a regular basis. If you are looking above all for finesse in a Verdicchio di Matelica, then you’ve hit the jackpot.
