The beginnig of the winerys’ relaunch
Poggio Bonelli is a large estate with over 80 hectares of vineyards as well as many others of olive groves and farmland. It belongs to the Monte Paschi di Siena bank and is located near the southern border of the Chianti Classico area in the town of Castelnuovo Berardenga. Some of the vineyards are classified only Chianti because they are just outside the Chianti Classico appellation. The estate was recently placed under the management of a third party which over the past year has made changes above all in regard to human resources and sales, both with success. The first positive steps towards re-launching the estate was undoubtedly the overhaul of the technical support system in the vineyard. The winery, however, conceptively remains stuck in the 1990s and the technical staff headed by Carlo Ferrini has been unable to work miracles. A total of 10,000 bottles of the following Chianti Classico Riserva 2013 were produced.
