Father John, integrity and provenance
Nick Maloney is a Californian winemaker trained in Burgundy. He started his winery when he was still in France working in Côte d’Or. The vineyards are planted in the cool Russian River and the 2010 was the first vintage produced. During the harvest he was helped by his two brothers and a cousin and they vinify the first vintage in a barn.
The name “Father John” honours the late Reverend John Weaver, an Episcopalian priest, famous for his integrity and provenance. Nick aim to produce a wine with the same characteristic.
