Made only with Verdicchio grapes from the Coste del Molino vineyard in Poggio San Marcello that were picked slightly ahead of time. The wine ferments in reduction and ages on the lees in stainless steel vats for nine months. It has a pale yet very bright straw-yellow and greenish color and the bouquet is reticent. The nose is initially a bit sulfurous before unfolding to reveal a significant complexity with notes of citron peel, camphor, flint and mustard flower. The attack of the mouthfeel is fresh and thin, with sensations of mustard and citron, while the finish is ‘dark’, decidedly persistent and with an aftertaste of slate and bitter citrus peel. A wine for those who love an austere and deep drop. It should be to be served around 15°C and will not peak before 2020.
