The color is a distinct ruby which almost seems untouched by time. The aroma is fresh and grapey with an old-style Bordeaux herbal note and a wild Rhone-esque tone. The attack of the mouthfeel is fresh, again with a wild note at the center of the palate and finish that is fresh, modulated on licorice despite the ‘grapey’ tannins that only just close the persistence. An excellent mix of sobriety and spontaneity. A technically perfect wine but one where the technical does not stand out. Its structural notes, on the other hand, are only good and the wine is certainly not bold (nor are any of the others). This needs to age more.
